A brief introduction

The Ministry of Environment, Energy, Agriculture and Consumer Protection of Hessen is the highest administrative level in the German Federal State of Hesse. The Ministry is responsible for the specification of general conditions, policies and regulations:

• for the improvement in protecting and utilizing nature and resources
• for the protection of people against hygienic and sanitary hazards
• for the conservation and development of the rural areas

 

The Ministry will play an active and coordinating role in the project as Lead Partner.

 

The Ministry will focus on the following issues to contribute to and benefit from this project:

• Caused by the climate change, water scarcity and drought could affect the landscape, economy and health of the people in Hessen. The Ministry is responsible for improving the general conditions and intents to create adaption methodologies against these potential effects. Hessen’s potential benefit of the project would be the improvement of its existing instruments as well as the development of new instruments.
• Hessen gained a lot of experience in the fields of technical and financial control of the water demand side management, benchmarking as well as multimedia campaigns. Hessen will contribute its experience in these fields of action to the partners
